Home Brew News No.6 1st April 2009
Welcome to our sixth newsletter Thank-you to everyone who supported our March “Edwards Essence” promotion. Not only did you save $1.00 per bottle but we also donated another $1.00 for every bottle sold to the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal. Our total donation was $150.00. Winter Brewing Winter in the southern states is almost here and what a perfect time to start brewing premium Lagers. Most home brewed Lagers need to be brewed at 12-15°C and in summer this is a real problem. True Lagers are what we call the cleaner tasting beers with little flavour coming from the yeast. The fresh Lager taste is coming directly from the malt and hops used. Morgans has a fantastic range of Lagers and to make something really special, try making it with a 15g sachet of BREW Cellar yeast. Jagermeister Edwards Essences have recently launched Meister J – a wonderful herbal liqueur essences based on the increasingly popular Jagermeister (which is German for Master Hunter). ![]() If you haven’t tried this liqueur then jump on board and see for yourself why the popularity of this drink is sweeping the world. Mix with Red Bull or straight over ice. Tequila Taste Test Last month, we conducted a blind taste test to determine the best tasting Tequila. Four of our best selling essences were compared against a bottle of Jose Cuervo purchased from the local. The results were as follows: Winner: Edwards Tequila. Runner Up: Samuel Willards Gold Star Red Neck Tequila. For more information on your favourite drinks, please visit our recipe section. Happy Home Brewing Regards Aussie Brewmakers |
