Fact Sheet 1 - Morgans Specialty Malts
Beers previously reserved for only the best full mash brewers are now possible with Morgan’s Master Malt Extracts.
Designing different beers from scratch or simply customising a kit beer to your own taste is a fun challenge. With Morgan’s Master Malt Extracts it’s so easy, all the brewer has to do is decide what sort of beer is wanted then combine the special extracts that reflect the flavour and hey presto – the perfect beer of your choice.
During the manufacture of all malt extracts and particularly at the malting stage, the grain is subjected to varying degrees of heating resulting in degrees of caramelisation and flavour development. By stopping the process at different points, we end up with a variety of malts from the palest Lager malts which are used to make pale standard beers, through the toffeefied caramalts which would be used to produce the more flavoursome ambers, then on to the roasted malt for the dark ales and stouts.
What Morgan’s have done to produce the Master Malt Extracts, is package all of the different varieties separately so that you can have the opportunity to combine your selection at home for the beer of your dreams.
There are five specialty extracts in the Master Malt Extract range:
Beer Enhancer - For use where you desire the lightest coloured beer without affecting the original flavour.
Lager - Grainy, candy flavour and aroma.
Wheat - Full wheat, grainy flavour and aroma.
Caramalt - Malty, toffee, caramel flavour and aroma.
Roasted - Roasted, bitter, mocha flavour and aroma.
Remember, all Morgan’s products are not only especially made for and quality controlled for brewing but are fully compatible. Anything goes with anything.
