There are hundreds of essences to choose from and the results vary from excellent to terrible. Listed below are the recipes we think are the best. These recipes are not identical to the manufactured product but are very similar, if not better…
Please note: The quantity of alcohol and essence in each recipe can be varied to suit individual taste. Shake the mixed ingredients well and try to age for at least 7 days for best results.
BACARDI* WHITE RUM
Add 1 x 50ml Edwards White Rum to 3 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
BOMBAY SAPPHIRE* GIN
Add 1 x 125ml Heritage Bombay Special Gin to 2.1 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
BUNDABERG* RUM
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Premium Queensland Rum to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
CANADIAN CLUB* WHISKY
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Gold Star Rye Whisky to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
CAPTAIN MORGAN'S* RUM
Add 1 x pkt (2 x satchels) Classic Calypso Dark Rum to 2 litres of alcohol @40%.
CARUBA* RUM
Add 1 pkt (2 x satchels) Classic Navy Rum to 2 litres of alcohol @40%.
COUGAR* RUM
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Gold Star Big Cat Bourbon to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
GLEN FIDDICH*
Add 1 x 50ml Edwards Single Malt Whisky to 3 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
GORDONS LONDON* GIN
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Gold Star St. James Gin to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
JACK DANIELS*
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Premium Tennessee Bourbon to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
JACK DANIELS* GOLD
Add 1 x Pkt Classic Tennessee Bourbon 12ml Mellow Oak to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
JIM BEAM* BLACK LABEL No.1
Add 500g Essencia Bourbon Chunks to 2.5 litres alcohol @ 40%.
Soak for 7 days then filter through cotton wool balls placed in a funnel.
This produces 2 x 1125ml bottles of excellent Bourbon.
Then, using the same chunks, add a further 2.5 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
Soak for 19 days then filter through cotton wool balls placed in a funnel.
Then, add 1 x 28ml Essencia Bourbon.
This produces 2 x 1125ml bottles of excellent Bourbon.

Add 1 x 50ml Edwards Super Smooth Kentucky Bourbon to 3 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
JIM BEAM* WHITE LABEL
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Premium Kentucky Bourbon to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
JOHNNIE WALKER* RED LABEL
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Gold Star Scotch Whisky to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
JOHNNIE WALKER* BLACK LABEL
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Premium Highlander Whisky to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
MAKER'S MARK*
Add 1 x pkt Classic American Bourbon 12ml Mellow Oak to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
NAPOLEON* BRANDY
Add 1 x 50ml Top Shelf French Brandy 8ml Top Shelf Glycerine to 2 litres of alcohol @40%.
PEPE LOPEZ* OUZO
Add 1 x 50ml Samuel Willards Gold Star Ouzo to 2 litres of alcohol @ 40%.
PIPERS* WHISKY
Add 1 x pkt Classic Whisky to 2 litres of alcohol @40%.
